We offer a complete range of air filters – whether you need one box with three different products despatched with your name on it to a client in deepest Cornwall, or two thousand wire frame filters delivered to your engineer on site, packed and labelled for each AHU.  We will have the right solution for you.

Our friendly staff bring a breadth of experience to helping you to find a solution, and there is always someone here to talk to you during office hours.

Small Enough
to Care

David started making wire frame filters with Don Carley at Southern Filters in Redhill, Surrey in May 1985, and went on to buy the company from Don in 1989.

He worked on his own until the early 1990s, when he found he could not single-handedly keep up with production, so began to take on staff.  The company has since then grown steadily, to our current staff level of 25.  We currently manufacture over 19000 different items, across seven departments.

David relocated the company from Redhill to Shaftesbury in 1999 when we moved to our first new, purpose-built industrial unit.

We remain a small, friendly team, nice people to do business with – and now occupy four units with over 11,000 square feet of manufacturing space, and continue to look for more space!

Meet our Team

We manufacture from our Shaftesbury factory with a team of 25 staff.

A happy working atmosphere is important to us, as is our training of staff.   Many employees have transferable skills across the factory, so we can direct our efforts towards the most urgent departments. We are proud of our very low staff turnover – many have been with us for about a decade.

Everyone works hard to ensure your order is manufactured to specification, on time and delivered to its destination.  We make daily despatches with a range of trusted carriers.

David brings a wealth of experience to answering your sales enquires, and enjoys problem-solving, manufacturing design and continually liaising with our suppliers to source the best materials.  

David started at Southern Filters in May 1985 and bought the company in 1989. His hobbies are motor cycle trials and cycling. He has competed in trials since 1979 and regularly rides in modern and classic Trials event. David cycles regularly, and in 2014 completed 9500 miles. In the summer of 2015 he cycled round the South West of England, covering 450 miles to celebrate his 30th year at Southern Filters. David also enjoys following all forms of motor sport and collecting classic motor cycles.

Claire processes your purchase orders, and manages your credit account.

Claire came to Southern Filters in November 2006, following 20 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, and Accounts in industry – she also deals with HR and marketing.

Claire has previously run her own company, is a lifelong learner, and completed an OU degree in 2014. She likes National Trust visits – for the long walks, not just the tea and cakes!   When not in a corner with a good book, Claire will be found planning her next weekend away.

Bob has 25 years of experience in the HVAC filter industry, and joined Southern Filters in 2008.  Contact Bob with all your air filter questions, and he will do his best to help, with an honest assessment of your requirements, and every effort to provide a solution from our comprehensive range of products

Bob is married with two grown-up children, and lives in Bacup, Lancashire, where he operates our Northern office.  He has been in the HVAC filter industry since 1990.   Bob’s interests include rock climbing, real ale and cats.

Sharon processes your purchase orders and schedules in work. She can advise you on delivery dates, prices, and any other queries you may have.  She works closely with the carrier companies so can help out with any special delivery requirements you require.

Sharon came to Southern Filters following 15 years of experience in administration working within the pharmaceutical and care industries.

She enjoys reading, pub and TV quizzes and family cycle rides.
